Labeling
Product labels are typically used in locations where items are stored and processed. At the most basic level, labels identify the contents of boxes or cases stored in the warehouse. Beyond this, information (such as lot number or weight) about the item inside a case can be contained in a label as a barcode. When a case is moved, the user can scan the barcode on the label to automatically record information about the movement.
Companies that print a large quantity of labels on a daily basis can use Food Manufacturing & Distribution's labeling application to streamline this activity. The user sets up codes for labels and label printers, then specifies the printers that are used for each label. When the system is instructed to print a label, this configuration is used to automatically select the appropriate printer. This functionality supports both labels that have been developed as reports and labels that are created with a Loftware labeling solution.
