How to: Print labels
Food Manufacturing & Distribution offers a number of ways to print the various labels that can be set up. This section will describe how to print Item labels or container labels.
Printing labels for items is done from transactions. Transactions are inbound activities (purchase orders, sales returns, and inbound transfers) and production activities (released and finished production orders). Selecting the print label button opens up the Label Worksheet page. This page contains the data from the source document such as Item No., Item Description, Unitof Measure, Lot No.,Quantity, Alternate Quantity etc. Printing labels for containers is done from the Container level, either the container list page or the individual container page. The print button immediately starts the printing process because all information is either available on the container-record (header and lines) as well as the Container Type setup.
You can open the Label Worksheet from open documents as mentioned above. A line is created in the Label Worksheet for every line on the selected transactions for which labels can be printed. If you are printing labels for open inbound documents, only transaction lines for items that have not been received are displayed in the worksheet. If you are printing labels for released production orders, only transaction lines for items with a remaining quantity are displayed in the worksheet.
The Label Worksheet fields are automatically filled in with information regarding the type and number of labels that will be printed. You can edit this information if you want to print a different type of label, or a different quantity.
You can print labels from the Label Worksheet by clicking Actions, pointing to General, and then clicking Print. Labels will be printed for any worksheet lines that have been selected.
