How to: Grant the Anywhere portal access to Business Central

To establish communication between your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment and the Anywhere Portal app, you must grant it the required rights and roles.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure these conditions are met:

  • Register the Anywhere Portal app in Entra ID of Azure. See Azure App Registration.
  • The user registering the app must have sufficient permissions to grant access.
  • Create the Client ID from the Anywhere Portal app.
  • The request to access Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central scopes must be pending.
  • The Anywhere framework extension must be installed and published.

Notes For information on publishing the Anywhere framework, contact STAEDEAN.

Steps

  1. In Business Central, navigate to the Microsoft Entra Applications page.

  2. Select New to create a new application.

  3. Enter the Client ID from the Anywhere Portal app in the Client ID field.

  4. Enter a name for the Anywhere Portal app, for example STAEDEAN Anywhere Portal.

  5. Set the following user permissions:

    • ANYTIPERMISSIONS (from the Anywhere Framework app)
    • D365 AUTOMATION (from the Base Framework app)
    • BISADMIN (from the BIS Framework app)
    • STAEDEAN COMMON (from the STAEDEAN Common Framework app). If it is not available, use TIC TI COMMON.

Notes Permission ANY is deprecated because it does not contain all required permissions to run the portal in AzApp mode. Use ANYTIPERMISSIONS instead.
