Product Engineering - Quality Management
How To : Follow up a Registered Measurement
When a measurement is registered, it is archived and becomes the starting point for follow-up actions. QM offers the following out-of-the-box follow-ups:
Create Return Document or credit memo: when the measurement was created for the receipt of items from a vendor and the measurement was rejected, the registered measurement is marked as Eligible for Rejection. Source information is available to create either a Return Order or a Credit Memo. Both fields are editable: set one of them. Then use the Create Return Document action to create the document.
Reclassification: moves the quantity of items related to the measurement to another location, usually a quarantine location. Set the default quarantine location in the QM Setup, and change it in the registered measurement if needed. With the journal and batch defaults in the QM Setup, create and post a reclassification journal.
Two scenarios are supported:
- Create and Post Reclassification: copies the source information to the re-classification journal and posts the total quantity.
- Create Reclassification: only copies the source information to the re-classification journal. Use Open Item Reclass. Journal to open the journal and modify it, for example, adjust the quantity to only the rejected items.
Create Eng. Change Request: creates an engineering change request of the type Quality.
This option is only available when Engineering Change Management is installed.
When using the Navigate action from the source document (for example, Posted Purchase Receipt), the registered measurement is listed and you can open it through the Navigate drill-down.
