How To : Follow up a Registered Measurement

When a Measurement is Registered it is basically "Archived" and becomes the starting point for follow-up actions. QM offers out of the box these follow-ups:

  • Create Return Document or credit memo - when the measurement was created for the receipt of items from a vendor and the measurement was rejected, the registered measurement is marked as "Eligible for Rejection".
This means that source information is available to create either a "Return Order" or a "Credit Memo". For that reason both fields are editable and one of them can be set.
When set use the "Create Return Document" action to create the document accordingly.

  • Reclassification - this follow-up action will allow you to move the quantity of items related to the measurement to another location, usually a quarantine location. The default quarantine location can be set in the QM-Setup but changed in the registered measurement. With the Journal and Batch defaults in the QM-Setup a reclassification journal can be created and posted to.
NOTE: The reclassification scenario supports 2 scenarios:
Create and Post Reclassification: This action will copy the source information to the re-classification journal and post the total quantity.
Create Reclassification: This action will only copy the source information to the re-classification journal. With the Open Item Reclass. Journal you can then open the journal and modify it, for example adjust the quantity to only the rejected items.

  • Create Eng. Change Request - this follow-up action will create an Engineering Change Request of the type Quality.
NOTE: This option will only be available when Engineering Change Management is installed.

When using the Navigate action from the source document, example Posted Purchase Receipt, the Registered Measurement will be listed and can be opened through the Navigate drill-down.
