How To : Process Measurements

A Measurement is created from an Incident and based on a measurement template. The measurement is created either manually through the Create Incident Wizard or automaticlly from a Process trigger. The measurement page consists of 3 fast tabs:

  • General - Shows the source fields as captured through the incident. These fields are non-editable and for information only.
  • User Defined Fields - Shows the additional fields captured as defined on the measurement template.
  • Lines - Lists the Checksheets created for the measurement and based on the settings in the measurement template.

Process

To process a measurement follow these steps:

  1. Complete the Checksheets(s) as listed on the Lines fast tab by selecting a line and clicking the "Edit" action on the Lines fast tab.
    NOTES:

    • There can be multiple checksheets when the "Checksheet Creation" field on the measurement template is set to Per Lot No. / Per Serial No. or when "Recurring Check Sheets" is set.
    • The Checksheet line shows the status of the Checksheet as:
      • Initial, the original checksheet.
      • Retest, created from another checksheet as a re-test.
      • Recurring when the measurement template is marked as "recurring", a new checksheet of the type recurring will be suggested when the checksheet is "Completed". The checksheet is created when you accept the suggestion.
    • The boolean Retested indicates that a new checksheet of the type "Retest" has been created from this checksheet.
  2. Approve the Checksheet(s) Once the checksheet is completed it will show a Result Status. Based on this result status the checksheet line is set to "Approved" and the Measurement Header to "Accepted" when the the checksheet is Accepted.
    NOTES:

    • When not approved use the "Re-Test" action in Manage menu of the Lines to create a new checksheet for a "second opinion". Re-test will open a pop-up "What would you like to do?":
      • Complete checksheet (a complete re-test checksheet will be created)
      • Rejected Checksheet lines (a re-test checksheet with only the rejected lines will be created)
      • Rejected and Ambiguous checksheet lines (a re-test checksheet with only the rejected - and ambiguous lines will be created)
    • Multiple check sheets can be approved to set the Measurement Status. When there is a mix of Accepted and Rejected check sheet the Measurement Status is set to "Ambiguous" and must be manually set to either Accepted or Rejected
  3. Register the measurement This action will copy the completed measurement to a Registered Measurement.
    NOTES:

    • An error will be shown when none of the Checksheets are Approved. Only Measurements with the Status "Accepted" or "Rejected" can be registered.
    • A measurement will be registered through a journal and besides a Registered Measurement an entry in the Measurement Register will be created.

Registered Measurements

When a measurement is registered also all the checksheets for the measurement are registered as separate entities. In the Archive menu on the role center you will find:

  • Registered Measurements
  • Registered Checksheets
  • Measurement Register
  • Closed Incident Entries
