How To : Process Measurements
A measurement is created from an incident and based on a measurement template. The measurement is created either manually through the Create Incident Wizard or automatically from a process trigger. The Measurement page consists of three fast tabs:
- General: shows the source fields captured through the incident. These fields are non-editable and for information only.
- User Defined Fields: shows the additional fields captured as defined on the measurement template.
- Lines: lists the check sheets created for the measurement and based on the settings in the measurement template.
Process
To process a measurement, follow these steps:
Complete the check sheet(s) as listed on the Lines fast tab by selecting a line and selecting the Edit action on the Lines fast tab.
There can be several check sheets when the Check Sheet Creation field on the measurement template is set to Per Lot No. / Per Serial No. or when Recurring Check Sheets is set. The check sheet line shows the status of the check sheet as:- Initial — the original check sheet.
- Retest — created from another check sheet as a re-test.
- Recurring — when the measurement template is marked as "recurring," a new check sheet of the type Recurring is suggested when the check sheet is "Completed." The check sheet is created when you accept the suggestion.
- The boolean Retested indicates that a new check sheet of the type "Retest" has been created from this check sheet.
Approve the check sheet(s). Once the check sheet is completed, it shows a result status. Based on this result status, the check sheet line is set to Approved and the measurement header to Accepted when the check sheet is Accepted.
When not approved, use the Re-Test action in the Manage menu of the Lines to create a new check sheet for a "second opinion." Re-test opens a pop-up "What would you like to do?":- Complete check sheet: a complete re-test check sheet is created.
- Rejected check sheet lines: a re-test check sheet with only the rejected lines is created.
- Rejected and Ambiguous check sheet lines: a re-test check sheet with only the rejected and ambiguous lines is created.
- When there is a mix of Accepted and Rejected check sheets, the measurement status is set to Ambiguous and must be manually set to either Accepted or Rejected.
Register the measurement. This action copies the completed measurement to a registered measurement.
An error appears when none of the check sheets are Approved. Only measurements with the status Accepted or Rejected can be registered. A measurement is registered through a journal, besides a Registered Measurement, an entry in the Measurement Register is created.
Registered Measurements
When a measurement is registered, all the check sheets for the measurement are also registered as separate entities. In the Archive menu on the role center you find:
- Registered Measurements
- Registered Checksheets
- Measurement Register
- Closed Incident Entries
