Delivery Trips
You can use Microsoft Dynamics NAV to manage the outbound delivery of sales orders, purchase returns, and transfer orders by setting up delivery trips. A delivery trip represents a defined delivery activity for outbound transactions. Delivery trips are created for a specific warehouse location and shipment date, and the transactions that you assign to a delivery trip must share these same values. When you post a delivery trip, the system posts the shipment of every order that is assigned to the trip.
Before you can start to manage delivery trips, you must configure your delivery trip policies and values. When configuration tasks are complete, you can use delivery trip management functionality for central processes, such as to create delivery trips, shorts management and make corrections to posted shipments prior to invoicing.
The following table describes a sequence of tasks, with links to the topics that describe them. These tasks are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
