Product Engineering - Quality Management
Design Detail : Manufacturing integration
The Create Incident action provides an ad-hoc option to create incidents and their measurements from the Prod. Order Line and the Prod. Order Components. Additional functionality automates the creation of measurements by using standard tasks as an integration point with the actual manufacturing process.
In the target Template type Standard Task, two additional fields are available:
- Measurement Template.
- Routing Status Trigger: [blank], Planned, In Process, Finished.
This trigger determines when (in or before) the production process the measurement is started. Add standard tasks to operations in a routing. They are copied to the Prod. Order Routing when the production order is refreshed.
With these settings, determine when in the manufacturing process the incident to create a measurement is triggered:
- [blank]: use the Create Measurement trigger from the Refresh function.
- Planned: set this status manually. Both these options assume that work preparation creates all measurements and their check sheets before the production operations actually start.
- In Process: set when postings are made to the operation. This status is set by Dynamics NAV. Assumes that measurements and their check sheets are created when the operation has actually started and process data needs to be checked and/or recorded.
- Finished: set when the operation is marked as finished. This status is set by Dynamics NAV. Assumes that measurements and their check sheets are created when the operation has completed and the end result needs to be verified.
Additionally, use the quality measures in the routing operation to specify detailed measures to be made in the operation. These quality measures are added as sub-questions in the check sheet. More information: Questions - Quality Measures.
You can also trigger standard tasks with the Refresh action. The request page of this action has an additional option: Create Measurements. This option works in combination with the Calculate Routings option on the same request page.
When both are set to true, the program goes through the Prod. Order Routing and creates an incident and measurement for each operation where a standard task is specified with a Measurement Template and the Operation Status Trigger is [Blank].
The combination with the Calculate Routing option means that when the routing is not (re)calculated, the standard tasks are not evaluated for measurements. Leaving the Create Measurement option off means you can (re)calculate a routing without evaluating the standard tasks for measurements.
When you want to prepare your documents before production starts, always run the refresh function. Otherwise, the measurements are created automatically when the production has actually started or is finished.
The incident, triggered by the standard task, is created for the item from the production order line: the production order line becomes the source record. The Operation No. and description from the operation are copied to the source description of the incident.
