Setting up Item LifeCycles

LifeCycles make use of states and state transitions to control business processes. Refer to the STAEDEAN-Common LifeCycle section for the basic setup.

Adding Item LifeCycle Settings

From the LifeCycle States you can provide additional settings for an Item LifeCycle. The settings are available through a setup table specified in the LifeCycle Type. The LifeCycle Type is inserted when the Item LifeCycle sample file is imported.

To maintain the settings:

  1. Click Settings in the Process group on the LifeCycle States page to provide settings for the selected state.
  2. You can check one or more of the following fields to select or deselect the checks for the selected LifeCycle state.
Field Description
LifeCycle No. (Not editable) The current LifeCycle
Version Code (Not editable) The Version of the current LifeCycle
Code (Not editable) As per the selected LifeCycle state.
NOTE: The settings will open with a filter on the Code field, clear the filter Filter to view and edit the complete list of settings.
Create SKU When checked from an item with this state an SKU can be created.
Available for Planning When checked an item with this state will be used in the material requirements calculation.
Available for Purchase When checked an item with this state can be selected on a purchase order line.
Available for Assembly When checked an item with this state can be selected in an assembly order.
Available for Production When checked an item with this state can be selected in a production order header.
Available for Job When checked an item with this state can be selected on a job planning line.
Available for Sales When checked an item with this state can be selected on a sales order line.
Available for Service When checked an item with this state can be selected on a service invoice (work order) line.
