How to: Assign Default Delivery Routes
You can assign a default delivery route to a shipping destination. A default delivery route will be automatically assigned to any outbound document with a shipment date for which the delivery route has been enabled. You must have already set up the relevant delivery routes.
The following steps can be followed for customers, customer ship-tos, vendors, and vendor order addresses. For simplicity, only a customer is described in detail.
To assign a default delivery route
- In the Search box, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.
- Open the relevant Customer card and click the Shipping FastTab.
- In the Default Delivery Route No. field, select the desired delivery route.
- Repeat the procedure for each customer account.
If it is necessary to use different Delivery Routes on different dates, it is possible to use the Delivery Route Matrix. In this page, the use can assign default routes for different days of the week. See How to: Assign Delivery Routes to Specific Days for more information.
