Work with Pickup Loads

In some instances, a company may choose to pick up purchased items from a vendor's location. If the company uses its own trucks to ship items to customers, it may be that the retrieval of purchased goods can be scheduled while a truck is returning to the warehouse after making deliveries.

You can manage this process by setting up pickup loads. A pickup load is a list of purchase orders that will be procured from vendor locations. Once assigned, these orders can be sequenced in the order in which they should be retrieved. After the pickup load has been created, a pickup sheet containing the pickup addresses of the assigned purchase orders can be printed and given to a driver.

The following table describes a sequence of tasks, with links to the topics that describe them. These tasks are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
