How to assign containers to item, bin, and warehouse journals

The journals in Food Manufacturing & Distribution support the use of containers. This lets you move entire containers and their contents, move loose items to a container in another location or bin, and so on.

The following journals support containers:

  • Item journals
  • Item reclass. journals
  • Bin Reclass. journals
  • Whse. Item journals
  • Whse. Reclass journals
  • Inventory journals

Item journals

On the journal line, you can select a container number for the specified action. A line of type purchase or positive adjustment combined with a container number means the items are being registered on the specified container. Lines with the type sale or negative adjustment combined with a container number decrease the quantity of the item on the specified container.

On the Navigate tab, in the Line group, choose New Container to create a new container in the warehouse. The container ID is automatically filled on the line.
