The SSCC code (Serial Shipping Container Code) is an 18-digit number created to uniquely identify a logistics unit (a container). The SSCC code contains the GS1 company prefix, a serial number and, a prefix-code and a check-digit.
The SSCC-code is usually displayed in a barcode-form, where it is preceded by an Application Identifier. This is a 2 or 3 digit code that is a reference to the type of code we are looking at. For an SSCC-code it is 00.
In order to easily print a UCC128 barcode of the SSCC code, the container license plate in NAV Food contains the SSCC-code, preceded by the 00 identifier.
