How to: Receive Inbound Transactions
The Order Receiving window displays released inbound transactions that have not yet been received. You can select a transaction, enter pertinent receiving information, then post the receipt from this window.
The Order Receiving window supports varying levels of warehouse complexity. If certain warehouse transactions must be completed before a document can be received, they are automatically generated through the receiving process. The program uses the warehouse requirements that have been defined for an inbound transaction's assigned location to determine the warehouse documents that are created from this window.
The Order Receiving window will not display open documents. A document must be released before it is displayed in this window.
To receive inbound transactions
- In the Search box, enter Order Receiving, and then choose the related link.
- Select the inbound transaction you want to receive.
If you are receiving inbound transactions in a 3 document location, you can select multiple lines.
- On the Navigate tab, in the Order group, choose Receive.
A window in which receiving information can be entered is displayed. The window that is displayed depends on how the inbound transaction's assigned location has been set up:
- For 1 document locations, the source document appears.
- For 2 document locations, the Inventory Put-Away window appears.
- For 3 document locations, the Warehouse Receipt window appears.
- Fill in receiving information for the transaction lines.
- Post the receiving document.
If you post inbound transactions in a 3 document location, the program will automatically create a directed put-away.
The inbound transaction will be deleted from the Order Receiving window if the items on it are fully received.
Posting inbound transactions in the Order Receiving window only posts receipts. Orders must still be invoiced directly from the source documents.
