Creating Transport Orders
Transport Orders are used to combine one or more source documents into a transport order. You can create transport orders using the following methods.
- Manually from the Container Worksheet
- Manually using the Link Container Function from a transport order
The following sections describe the various methods used to create transport orders.
Manually from the Container Worksheet
The following steps are based on a inventory pick but the process is applicable for all put-away/pick documents.
- In the Search box, enter Inventory Pick and select the related link.
- Select Inventory Picks to open the list of sales orders.
- Select an inventory pick and click Edit to modify the pick.
- Click Container Worksheet to open the container worksheet page.
- Select an existing container line and click Create Transport Order to create a transport order or click Link Existing Transport Order to link an existing transport order.
The Link Existing Transport Order will still create a new Transport Order when it finds that the address on the container does not match the address on the existing Transport Order.
Manually using the Link Container function
The following steps are based on outbound containers but the process is also applicable for inbound containers.
- In the Search box, enter Transport Order and select the Warehouse/Transport and Deliveries/Lists link.
- Select Transport Orders and click New to create a transport order.
- Specify the Document Type as Outbound and specify the Location Code, Customer No. as required. Provide values for the remaining fields.
- Click Link Container on the Home tab to open the Container window. This page shows all the available containers which are assigned to the related customer. Note that most of the fields on the Transport Order header are used as a filter in showing the correct containers available to be linked.
- Select one or more lines and click OK to add the containers to the transport order.
