How To : Create a Service Object
Use the Service Object page to maintain Service Objects. Service Objects are created from Job Deliverables to group Service Items, for example all copiers in one building where the building is the Service Object and the copiers are the individual service items.
Maintaining Service Objects
- In the Search box, type Service Objects.
- Select Service Objects to open the list of available Service Objects.
- Select New to create a new Service Object or Edit to modify the selected entry. In both cases the Service Object card opens
- Typically, you must fill the following fields:

General tab | Identify the service object. |
No. and Description | The No. is taken from the number series as set in the Jobs Setup, the Description is free text. |
Parent Service Object | Allows you to link the current service object to a service object on a higher level. |
Service Items | A flowfield showing the number of service items linked to the service object. |
Service Objects | A flowfield showing the number of service objects linked to the current, parent, service object. |
Customer tab | The customer information is taken from the Job's Bill-to customer |
Location of Service Item | A free text field to add additional, location information of the service object |
Shipping tab | Select one of the customer's shipping address codes to populate the ship-to fields |
Jobs tab | Shows the Job - and Job Deliverable No. from which the Service Object was created |
Lines | Specifies the Service Items linked to the Service Object |

No. | The number of the Service Item or - Object |
Job No. | The Job the Service Item or - Object originated from |
Description | The description of the Service Item or - Object |
Job Description | The description of the Job |
