How to: Assign Quality Control Tests to Items

You can assign data collection data elements to an item as quality control tests. You must have already set up the relevant data collection data elements.

Whenever a new item lot record is entered, a quality control activity is created for that lot. This quality control activity is comprised of all the data elements that have been assigned to the item as quality control tests.

Quality control tests are created for specific item lots. You must define an item tracking code for an item before you can assign quality control tests to it.

To assign quality control tests to items

  1. In the Search box, enter Items, and then choose the related link.
  2. Open the relevant item card.
  3. On the Navigate tab, in the Master Data group, choose Quality Tests. The Item Quality Tests window appears.
  4. In the Code field, select the data collection data element you want to assign as a quality control test.

Every data element has an associated data element type. The fields in which you can enter target values for an assigned quality test depend on the data element type.

  1. Fill in the quality test target values and other remaining fields.
