How to: Register a Pre-Process Activity

Pre-process activities represent tasks which must be performed prior to production, and are generated for released production order components. As tasks are completed, the pre-process activities can be registered. Click here for more information on pre-process activities.

To register a pre-process activity

1. In the Search box, enter Pre-Process Activities, and then choose the related link.
2. Open the relevant pre-process activity.
3. Enter the quantity of the specified production component you want to process (and a lot number, if necessary) on the activity lines. If you are processing multiple item lots, a different lot can be entered on each line.

Depending on setup, it may be that posting an associated blending order automatically populates the pre-process activity lines with the necessary information.

4. On the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Register.
5. Choose the Yes button. The activity lines are registered.

Registering a pre-process activity instructs the program to move the item on the activity lines from the pre-process inbound bin to the outbound bin. The pre-process activity will remain open if there is an additional quantity to process.
