How to: Create New Item Processes
A careful setup of the item process master data is mandatory for you to be able to work correctly with the system later.
To create a new item process
- In the Search box, enter Item Processes, and then choose the related link.
- On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New to open an empty item process card.
The top part of the item process card is the item process header, and the bottom part of the card contains the item process versions.
The data entered on the item process header applies for the whole item process. You enter the item process's production components on the item process version. Every item process must have a minimum of one version.
- In the No. field, enter the appropriate item process number which identifies the BOM uniquely. Any combination of numbers and letters can be used.
- In the Description field, enter a description for the item process.
- On the Versions FastTab, choose New Version. The Item Process Version window appears.
The Item Process Version window contains the item process lines on which you enter the data for the items to be processed and other production BOMs. You can also use item process lines to type necessary text. 6. Fill in the fields. 7. When you are done, change the Status field to Certified.
