How to: Add a New Production Order

The Daily Production Planning window can be used to add new production orders. New production orders may be generated to deal with anticipated shortages in manufactured items, or to use up an excess quantity of on hand raw materials.

To add a new production order

1. In the Search box, enter Daily Production Planning, and then choose the related link.
2. Select the line displaying the item for which you want to create the production order.
3. On the Actions tab, in the General group, choose Add Order.
4. In the Daily Prod. Planning-Order window, fill in the fields.
5. Choose the OK button.

The production order is added to the Daily Production Planning window as a pending production order. The anticipated impact to scheduled production activities and item availability is displayed in red.
