Job Item Prices Window

Specifies job-specific item prices and line discounts that can override prices and line discounts on the item card or the customer price group. Job item prices and line discounts are only used if the currency code is the same as the currency code for the job.
The window contains a line for each job item price. When you have created a line with an item price, this is the price that will apply to the item for this job.
By default, the Unit Price and Line Discount % fields contain 0. The Apply Job Price and Apply Job Discount check boxes are selected by default. Therefore, if only job specific prices should be applied and line discounts should be based on the customer's regular setting, you should define a Unit Price, and clear the Apply Job Discount check box. Otherwise, the line discount has a default value of 0%. Similarly, if only job specific line discounts should be applied and prices should be based on the customer's regular setting, you should define a Line Discount %, and also clear the Apply Job Price check box. Otherwise the Unit Price is 0 by default.
For jobs that are planned and invoiced in a foreign currency and are based on fixed prices and usage, you must define job specific prices and set Exch. Calculation (Price) to Fixed FCY.

How to: Set Up Job Item Prices

You can set up specific prices for items for a job. You use the Job Item Prices window to do this.

To set up prices for items

  1. In the Search box, enter Jobs, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the job that you want. On the Navigate tab, in the Prices group, choose Item.
The Job Item Prices window opens with the Job No. field filled in based on the record shown in the job card.
  3. Enter the Item No., and optionally the Variant No., for the item that you are creating a price for. The description of the item/variant code is copied to the Description field on the price line.
  4. Fill in the optional information for the price. For example, fill in the Job Task No., Currency Code, and Line Discount % fields. This information will be used in the job planning lines and job journals when this item is entered or added to the job.
  5. Enter the unit price for item you will set the price up for. This will be the unit price used in the job planning lines and job journals when this item is entered.

Note: This price will always override the regular customer price (“best price” mechanism) for items. If you want to use the regular customer price mechanisms, then you should not create any job item prices for the job.
