How to: Fill In and Post Labor Journals

You can post the labor your company's maintenance personnel performed for a work order in a labor journal. Entries posted in a labor journal have no effect on the general ledger.

To fill in and post a labor journal

  1. In the Search box, enter Labor Journal, and then choose the related link.
  2. In the Work Order No. field, on the first line, enter the work order for which you are entering labor.
  3. Fill in the journal lines with the relevant information.
  4. Repeat this procedure for each labor journal line you want to post.
  5. After filling in the fields, post the journal. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Post.
