How to: Set Up Lot No. Segment Values

Lot number segment values are defined for each location, piece of equipment, or work shift code that will be included in a lot number that has been generated according to a custom format. When one of these records is included as part of a custom lot number, the defined lot number segment value is used.

To set up a lot no. segment value

1. In the Search box, enter Lot No. Segment Values, and then choose the related link.
2. On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.
3. In the Type field, select the type of record that will have a lot number segment value.
4. Fill in the Code/No. field with the record that will have a lot number segment value.
5. In the Segment Value field, enter a segment value for the record.
