How to: Trace Lot-Tracked Items

You have the opportunity to see where a lot-tracked item was used, including how it and related items entered and exited the inventory.

These features can be particularly useful in quality control when you need to find out which customers received products with a particular lot number or when you need to find out which vendor a defective material came from.

To trace lot-tracked items

1. In the Search box, enter Lot Tracing, and then choose the related link.
2. On the Trace Lot Info. tab, enter the specific item and lot number that you would like to trace.

The Lot Tracing window displays the entered lot number's source and destination lines in the FastTabs below the filter fields.

You can perform a second lot trace on one or more source or destination lines that are created from the initial lot trace.

3. Select the source or destination lines that you would like to trace, choose Actions, and then choose Trace. A second window containing the results of this trace appears.
