Project quotes
A project quote is a special kind of sales quote. When a project is in the quote state, you can make preliminary budget calculations on which to base the offer to a customer. You can set up or change the project's task structure and timeline. You can create a project quote for a contact in combination with a customer template.
When the project quote is created from the planned state, break down the estimate into budget lines with the help of a Breakdown function where each project cost type per element can be broken down into individual budget lines.
You can also create a project quote directly from an opportunity or manually through the Create Project (Ctrl+J) action. In the quote state, you can create a service object from the project deliverable. With this service object, the service department can start planning and prepare service contracts.
You can create several calculation versions for the ProjectQuote by creating new budget versions or by activating a previous budget version.
When the project quote is won, the state changes to Order:
- A customer is created (when required) from the contact and customer template.
- The active budget is copied. All other budget versions are archived.
When a project quote is lost, the state changes to Completed.
