How to: Assign Genesis Units of Measure

Genesis R&D provides a number of predefined units of measure in which ingredient quantities can be defined. You must assign these predefined units to the units of measure that exist in Dynamics NAV. When a production BOM's components are exported to Genesis, their BOM quantities are converted from the Dynamics unit to the assigned Genesis measure.

Regardless of an item's base unit of measure in Dynamics NAV, all Genesis ingredients are assigned a base measure of grams. You will not be able to export an item from Dynamics NAV into Genesis if it has not been assigned at least one weight unit in the Item Units of Measure window.

To assign Genesis units of measure

1. In the Search box, enter Units of Measure, and then choose the related link.
2. In the Units of Measure window, select the unit of measure to which you want to assign a Genesis measure.
3. In the Genesis Measure field, select the Genesis measure you wish to assign.
4. Enter a conversion between the unit of measure and the Genesis measure in the Genesis Qty. per UOM field, if necessary.
