How to set up data collection templates

You can set up the data collection templates used with data collection as codes. You can then select one or more templates and assign data collection lines to master records.

Steps

  1. In the search box, enter Data Collection Templates, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.
  3. Fill in a line with a code, description, and activity type for each data collection template.
  4. On the Navigate tab, in the General group, choose Lines.
  5. On the Data Collection Template Lines page, fill in the fields.

There are five different activity types:

  • Q/C: templates related to item quality tests
  • Shipping: templates related to shipping documents
  • Production: templates related to production documents
  • Receiving: templates related to receiving documents
  • Log: templates related to logging activities
