How to: Set Up Data Collection Templates

The data collection templates that are used with data collection are set up as codes. You can then select one or more templates and assign data collection lines to master records.

To set up data collection data templates

  1. In the Search box, enter Data Collection Templates, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.
  3. Fill in a line with a code, description, and activity type for each data collection template.
  4. On the Navigate tab, in the General group, choose Lines.
  5. In the Data Collection Template Lines window, fill in the fields.

Additional information related to step 2
There are 5 different Activity Types:

  1. Q/C: Templates related to Item Quality tests
  2. Shipping: Templates related to Shipping documents
  3. Production: Templates releated to production documents
  4. Receiving: Templates related to receiving documents
  5. Log: Templates related to logging activities
