How to set up lot status codes

Lot status codes determine the allowed behaviour for a specific lot. You can assign or change a lot status code to a lot manually through the Lot Information Record page. You can also assign a lot status code automatically to all inbound lots, or automatically through the Quality Control module.

The lot status code determines whether a lot is allowed or forbidden to be used on sales, purchase, production, or transfer orders, as well as production planning functionality and inventory adjustments.

Steps

  1. In the search box, enter Lot Status Codes, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.
  3. On the new line, fill in the fields.

Lot status summary

The Item Availability by Lot page is enhanced. Because lot status is fundamentally about lot availability, this page now provides a summary by lot status.

The page previously displayed one row per lot with additional data from the lot information (for example, lot status and supplier lot number) and several quantities (for example, on hand, scheduled receipts, and gross requirements). It is now enhanced to include additional rows for each lot status showing totals of the quantities for all lots with that lot status.

The rows are presented in a tree view with the top level being the lot status summary rows and the second level being the rows for each individual lot.
