Define Co-Product/By-Product processes

Set up production processes that result in several output items as co-product/by-product processes. Each production process is set up as a co-product process card that holds master data defining the raw materials, production equipment, and other values that apply to the process. Output items are also defined on the co-product process version card, where you designate them as either co-products or by-products.

As with other types of production BOMs, co-product/by-product processes deal exclusively with material requirements and other production characteristics. Typically a production BOM must be linked to the item record that represents the output of the production process. When working with co-product/by-product processes, however, a by-product can be produced from more than one process. Depending on how output items are defined for a particular co-product/by-product process, it may not be necessary to associate the production BOM to the related item records.
