Progress Registration

The concept of this functionality is to limit the amount of, time, posting in a production order. Especially in a situation with automated operations it must be possible to automatically have these operations posted triggered from a point of completion.
Enables easier registration and better insight into the progress of production orders by automatically posting normative hours, define points of completion, take scrapped quantity into account, provide a task based progress registration.
The Progress Registration consists of the following features:

  1. Check Quantity in Output Journal = During registration of an Output Journal the total quantities are compared to the already posted output and scrap quantities. When a deviation exists the user is asked to confirm the registration.
  2. Use Scrap Quantity on Production Orders = This feature supports the component based production (the availability of components determines the quantity to be produced).
  3. Points of Completion = To define inspection points where progress is measured a registered routings can be defined. Finishing these automatically finishes the previous operation.
  4. Base Usage on Normative Quantities = The normative production times are shown in the Output journal Line

Notes:

  • Post Normative is a setting on the Work - / Machine center and functions as a "default" setting for the operation which means that in the routing - or production order routing - this setting can be overruled.
  • Resource Tasks can be created per Point of Completion (Resource Task Setup) to post the Run Time for that operation and as the trigger for the previous, "post normative" operations for which setup and run time are posted as per the settings on the operation.
  • Posting the Resource Task also requires that output is posted. Since the STAEDEAN - Resource Management Time Sheet version cannot handle this the only way to post this correctly is through the Start - Stop function of the Resource Task where the Time Input line is completed with Output Quantity, Scrap Quantity, - Code and Finished. (A NAV Anywhere flow can be used to support this function from a mobile device.)

Constraints:

  • A Point of Completion cannot be set as post normative.
  • A Post Normative operation cannot be marked as point of completion.
  • Resources cannot be assigned to Post Normative operations.

To set or maintain these options:

  1. In the Search box, type Advanced Manufacturing Setup.
  2. Select Advanced Manufacturing to open the Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Setup page.
  3. Select the Progress fasttab for these options:
Field Description
Include Scrap Quantity in Production If this checkbox is selected, the system checks if the output together with the output due to scrap are equal to the order quantity. With this option, you cannot post extra quantity to a production order.
Action if Quantity Exceeds Expected Quantity Select an action required when the quantity in the output journal exceeds the quantity in the production order: 1. Blank = No option selected.; 2. Ask for Confirmation = User confirmation is required to post the excess quantity; 3. Block = If selected, you cannot post until the quantity is the same as the quantity expected.
Action if Point of Completion Select an action which executes when the point of completion is reached. 1. Blank = No option selected; 2. Load Preceding Operations Automatically = System automatically inserts previous operation into the output journal.;3. Load Preceding Operations after User Confirmation = User confirmation is required to insert previous operation into the output journal.
Base Usage on Normative Quantities If this field is selected, base usage is calculated on normative quantity.
