Distribution Planning

Distribution processes within the Food industry are many and different. From the actual distribution of packaged food, to record additional item costs at time of receipt, from supporting truck-load receiving to the Terminal Market functionality and Lot-settlement, distribution is diverse and extensive.

NAV Food provides two levels of support for distribution processes in food related companies.

The first level is provided as part of the food core and is available for all Food customers. This level contains support for:

  • Using extra charges for items at time of receipt of goods as opposed to at time of posting of the invoice,
  • Executing trucload receiving, where selected receipts are handled as one instead of order per order,
  • Terminal Market functionality, where fresh produce is sold from multiple vendors and collected on one Sales Invoice, paid immediately,
  • Using lot settlement functionality to let the sales-results of a lot determine the actual purchase price.

The second level is available as a seperate module and supports functionality such as:

  • Using Pickup Load functionality to mix delivery of goods with pickup of orders from Vendors,
  • Using Standard Sales Orders as an extension on the standard NAV functionality in the "Blanket Sales Order",
  • Delivery Trips that manage multiple deliveries at multiple addresses on a given day by a given truck.
