About: Lifecycle Event
In Business Integration Solutions, the Lifecycle Event triggers a pipeline, based on a change in the defined lifecycle state transitions.
Use this event to export Microsoft Dynamics BC data in a controlled manner, based on lifecycle state transitions.
Concept
Lifecycle Studio is a part of Solution Center where you can setup:
- Lifecycle Types
- Lifecycles
- Lifecycle States
In the Lifecycle Event settings you can specify on which Lifecycle State change the event should trigger. For example, you define a Lifecycle for items with 4 Status Codes. Once the Status Code changes to State Code No.4, the item information is exported immediately.
A Lifecycle Event carries a record set with it and can be batch processed.
To use the Lifecycle Event it is mandatory to first define the Lifecycle and Lifecycle States. It is important to note and distinguish that the Lifecycle Event is not used to detect changes to the Status field of a certain record, for example a Sales Order. In that case use the Record Change Event.
